Half of its holes are set in parkland style and half in links style. At 6639 yards, par 71, its subtle difficulties quickly become apparent to expert and novice alike. No tricks; just a straightforward, sturdy test of skill. It is notable that Sam Snead and Ben Hogan scored 77 when they played here. In addition to the US Open championship, won by Bobby Jones, and the PGA Championship, won by Walter Hagen, Inwood has hosted numerous metro area PGA events.
